Why does the Liberal OC’s Chris Prevatt keep defending Republicans and attacking Democrats?

Jannie Liberal OC

A week ago our blogger Sean Mill broke the story that the restaurant owned by Supervisor Janet Nguyen’s husband, Tom Bonikowski-Nugyen, and her Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, had once again been issued several Orange County Health violations, including two major violations.

We are still waiting for the blue hacks at the Liberal OC to even mention to their readers that Nguyen voted against restaurant health ratings and of course it comes as no surprise that they are not going to let their readers know about these latest violations, even though Liberal OC editor Chris Prevatt works for the Orange County Health Department.

Instead, Prevatt is attacking Mill for going after these foul Republicans!  Prevatt wrote this comment ripping Mill in a recent post:

As the "community blogger" who first raised the question of Van Tran's involvement in this matter, I do appreciate Deepa at the Register getting the answers to some of those questions.

I now get to ask the next question of one of the "community bloggers" who came to the valiant defense of Councilman Quach and Assemblyman Tran. This particular blogger, a Democrat and Santa Ana Planning Commissioner appointed by Sal Tinajero suggested that Quach's intoxicated driving was somehow less of a threat to public safety than health code violations at a Lee's Sandwich shop.

Sean Mill, why again are you standing up for a drunk driving councilman and his investigation obstructing mentor Van Tran? Where is your outrage over the people who served so much alcohol to Quach that he couldn't get a quarter of a mile down the road? How can someone with such questionable judgment as you sit in judgement over conditional use permits in Santa Ana? Your lack of good judgment reflects poorly not just on you, but also on Councilman Sal Tinajero.

Not that you have the integrity of character to do so, but you should resign immediately from the Santa Ana Planning Commission. You should do so for the good of the people of Santa Ana, and your friend Sal Tinajero.

Don't drag him down into the same pit of slime in which you dwell.

prevatt-hearts-janet

Where do I even start with this libelous stew?  Mill DID NOT defend Quach – that is a total lie.  What Mill did was illustrate to our readers the fact that BOTH the Trannies AND the Jannies are a threat to public health.  Quach had a blood alcohol level of .26, allegedly, when he crashed last Saturday night.  But the restaurant owned by Janet Nguyen’s husband and Chief of Staff has had almost 40 health violations!  Thousands of people die of food poisoning every year in this country – no wonder Janet voted against restaurant health ratings!

But Prevatt does not care if anyone dies after eating at Tom and Andrew’s restaurant, which is a Lees Sandwiches franchise in Stanton.  Prevatt simply continues to give free passes to Janet – and that is becuase he is a JANNIE through and through.

Now you have to wonder, why would Prevatt, a supposedly liberal Democrat, be interested in defending Janet Nguyen?  She has proven to be anything but a moderate.  She voted to deny funding to important health programs for women, run by Planned Parenthood.  Prevatt NEVER mentioned this at all on his blog!

Janet voted to spend money on new furniture for her office and she also supported remodeling the County lobby at her office, while the Supervisors were laying off Prevatt’s fellow county workers!

And now Janet is threatening to run against Democratic State Senator Lou Correa, according to my sources.  I wonder if Prevatt will even support Correa?  I doubt it!

Mill is not the bad guy – Janet’s husband and her chief of staff are – but not in Prevatt’s world.  It apparently does not matter to Prevatt that Janet’s Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, defeated Democrat Robin Marcario last year for the Garden Grove City Council.  There are rumors that Do STILL does not even live in Garden Grove, but you sure as hell won’t read about that at the Liberal OC!

And Janet got her hubby, Tom, appointed to the Garden Grove Planning Commission.  Here then is the BIGGEST irony.  Prevatt is calling on Mill to resign from the Santa Ana Planning Commission because he exposed the fact that Tom’s restaurant keeps racking up health violations.  But shouldn’t Prevatt be going after REPUBLICAN Tom Bonkowski-Nguyen, who was put on the Garden Grove Planning Commission even though he runs a restaurant that keeps getting health violations?

Prevatt also went after me last year when I ran for the Santa Ana City Council, even though I was endorsed by Planned Parenthood and ECCO.  He helped to reelect REPUBLICAN Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamante, who was himself forced to resign from two state commissions last year after he made comments about Sheriff Hutchens that constituted harassment!

Prevatt in fact joined his fellow Republican loving blogger, Dan Chmielenski, in supporting a hit piece against me last year that was designed by Red County blogger Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham, and funded by Republicans including Mike Schroeder, a bunch of Trannies, and Judy Ware!

not-a-jannie

Prevatt also recently banned fellow Democrat Paul Lucas from commenting on his sinking blog.  But Prevatt is always thrilled when Jerbal shows up at his blog, even though Jerbal works every day to take out Democrats, except of course for Tom Daly, who is another Prevatt favorite.  All Lucas did was go after Janet – and he was right!!!!!

Why does Prevatt call his blog the Liberal OC?  Shouldn’t he call it the Jannie OC?  Or better yet, given that Prevatt DOESN’T EVEN LIVE HERE, shouldn’t he call it the Jannie Long Beach?

“Take us out to the ball game!” says OCTA!

OCTA gifts

A year or more back the Editor of the Orange Juice Blog, our beloved Art Pedroza was the first to nail down “freebies” to members of the Orange County Fair Board.  We were talking about giving away free entry and primo seats at the various concerts to VIP’s, Family Members and Political cronies.

Well, it seems these “goodies of influence” were just a little “wine from the tea spoon”.   The hallowed OCTA…..has been doing their dipping excercises evidently….as well.  The OC Register reports today that biggies like Peter Buffa and others have been on the recieving end of various dinners, boxes of chocolates and baseball tickets!  Lots’s of baseball tickets!  The Orange County Register report today by Doug Irving  and Serena Maria Dainels points out that “limited free gifts” maybe OK in California - but may broach a stricter Federal Law!

When they start getting a couple of thousand  bucks in”freebies” from any source or sources…..it does have to make one  wonder……why?    What is most disturbing is the fact that these “pillars of our society” protest vehemently that “You can’t buy ME with baseball tickets!”  Which obviously “begs the question”:  What will – buy you then?

Junkets, free bus rides, free lunches at tax payers expense, free trips to various local and distant locales for study or board meetings, commemorative watches, badges and other goodies – all come with the job:  Right?

Some corrective action is in order and we believe at the next meeting of the OCTA…..that a new SOP…(Standard Operating Procedure) element be instituted:  “NO acceptance of freebies to any member, members of their families or direct business associates! EVER!”  None, Nada, Nothing please!

If people on the OCTA board find that new concept beyond the pale…..please step down now.  Please resign immediately!  Please send your resignation letters early and frequently…..especially if it is not immediately accepted!  The grey ghosts of the New Jersey Transit System circle like vultures over any transportation system which utilizes giant amounts of taxpayer money for a variety of sometimes unrealistic, unreasonable or overpriced purposes.  Does anyone recall “Light Rail”?  How many Dodger or Angel Tickets were involved in any of those decisions?  Probably not too many……but that was only because the people spoke up often and loudly!

It’s time again for the people to tell OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority) Members – “No Box Seats bubba! - EVER!”  No “Manny Bobble Head Night” goodies and no FREE Parking at the Park either!

“How do you get access to the Visitor Clubhouse again?  My kid needs an autograph!”  “Remember, YOU can’t buy me!”

Clunkers are Cities’ Cash Cows

Cash Cow

Cash Cow Clunker?

The media is full of stories recently about how the federal program to subsidize new car sales by assuring owners of older gas guzzling cars that they will get up to $4500 for their old clunker has resulted in a surge of new car sales. It has been reported that some new car dealers are actually running out of new cars to sell. And Congress has rushed to add $2 billion to the $ 1 billion original funding level for the program to keep it going.

Not mentioned amidst this media euphoria about the clunker program however is the surge in sales tax and license fees that these unanticipated sales are sending into the coffers of government. In California it is well known that cities bend over backwards to attract and keep car dealerships, big box stores and other retail businesses because the cities reap a large chunk of the sales tax they generate.

So, as the clunker program produces a surge in car sales, cities benefit from a surge in sales tax revenue (The State will also benefit from vehicle tax and license fees collected, but that is another story).

Many cities are cutting back on public service, including hours of operation, levels of police and fire service coverage, recreation programs and the like because of budget problems. Perhaps this surge in clunker revenues can help offset some of those cuts. Do you know what your city is going to do with this unanticipated clunker revenue?

Taxpayers paid for Loretta Sanchez to go on vacation

Loretta Sanchez uses fed funds to go on vacation

Say it ain’t so Loretta!  Apparently Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez used federal money to essentially go on vacation, according to the O.C. Register.

"When 10 members of Congress wanted to study climate change, they did more than just dip their toes into the subject," The Wall Street Journal reports. "They went diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also rode a cable car through the Australian rain forest, visited a penguin rookery and flew to the South Pole.

"The 11-day trip — with six spouses traveling along as well — took place over New Year's 2008," the paper says.  And the total cost to taxpayers was about half-a-million dollars!

Voters have a choice next year.  They can vote for Sanchez or they can vote for Quang X. Pham – a successful businessman and author who served our country in the U.S. Marines.  Click here to learn more about Pham’s campaign.

Who stands to profit with ObamaCare?

So the Union thugs are starting to show up in force. Liberal lawmakers are holding “Prayer Vigils” for Health Care as a way to avoid debates. As well, a lot of noise is being made about people making profits from Health Care, why you should hate them, and why you should be afraid. And once again, I have to come in and point out what all that fuss avoids. Who exactly stands to profit from ObamaCare? The answers come from the right and the left.

Barack Obama declared a big victory in his attempt to nationalize the health-care industry when he got the backing of the pharmaceutical industry by promising that government would not in price negotiations and make Big Pharma pay more of the bill. Billions are at stake here. Big Pharma wouldn’t have endorsed this plan if it hadn’t been given this massive break. The exposure of this agreement "could prove embarrassing" to Obama and his administration who have gone out of their way to demonize an industry that saves millions of lives.

From The Peoples Voice

Obamacare: A Health Care Rationing Scheme to Enrich Insurers, Drug Companies and Large Hospital Chains

The administration and lawmakers have been unresponsive in moving ahead with House and Senate legislation to enrich health insurers, Big Pharma, and large hospital chains. It will ration care, curb expensive treatments and surgeries for those who can’t afford them, leave millions in the country uncovered, deny it altogether to undocumented immigrants even though they pay income, payroll and other taxes, and claim it’s real reform like they always do.
Over the next decade, Medicare and Medicaid may lose over $600 billion in funding with recipients, of course, making up the difference or foregoing care. About $317 billion is proposed for “efficiencies” with another $313 billion in cuts for hospitals that treat the poor and uninsured. Many of them are already severely strapped as unemployment soars, charitable donations are down, expenses rise, vital services and staffs have to be cut to stay afloat, and growing numbers won’t make it as economic conditions worsen.

Instead of helping to fill budget gaps, Obama plans less aid to shut them down. It will leave some areas dependent on more distant ones for treatment, and let large chains consolidate for greater dominance. Accessible quality care will be less available and affordable so, of course, patients will lose out – mostly the elderly, chronically ill, those on society’s lower rungs, and all working Americans because an uncaring administration and Congress threw them overboard for profit and “efficiencies.” If “Obamacare” passes, most working people, the disadvantaged, and those singled out as less important will experience large rollbacks in quality, readily accessible coverage. For them, future health problems will be more hazardous than ever because a callous nation doesn’t care.

Then there is the massive sop to Union Labor Health Care.

Labor costs account for about half of state and local spending, according to BLS and Census data. Benefits consume a growing share of that, now 34%.
The rest of the two-thirds of the population under age 65 with employer-provided health insurance be darned, sayeth the Democrats with the union label.

And, of course, the Democrats favorite group to benefit, Trial Lawyers.

Just before the House leadership's 794-page health care reform bill went to a Ways & Means markup last Thursday, a remarkable provision was slipped in that amounts to one of the more audacious and far-reaching trial lawyer power grabs seen on Capitol Hill in a while. The provision would widen the scope of lawsuits against what are known as Medicare third-party defendants. The language slipped into the health bill would greatly expand the scope of these suits against third parties, while doing something entirely new, namely allow freelance lawyers to file them on behalf of the government–without asking permission–and collect rich bounties if they manage thereby to extract money from the defendants. Lawyers will recognize this as a "qui tam" procedure, of the sort that has led to a growing body of litigation filed by freelance bounty hunters against universities, defense contractors and others alleged to have overcharged the government.

Do you really think any of this ObamaCare is going to reduce costs? It won’t get passed without enriching the pockets of Obama donors and Big Companies who go along. So you can worry about who gets rich now, or later. ObamaCare promises nothing else.

Panic sets in as the sun goes down on Mission Viejo councilman Lance MacLean

Les Sykes interferes with signature drive

Les Sykes interfering with democracy!

Earlier this evening I received another complaint regarding harassment of signature gatherers in the ongoing effort to RECALL Mission Viejo City councilman Lance MacLean.

Let’s begin this update by my quoting from this latest communication, which I am told is supported by multiple video’s.

“On Thur. afternoon in front of Trader Joe’s two signature gatherers, ( Mr X & Mrs Y), said an elderly man came by in his car. He was harassing them, yelling at them from his car while they were getting signatures. He returned later and walked up their table wearing his taxpayer-provided shirt with dead tree logo, (the new Mission Viejo logo), and he told them he was a city commissioner. They said he was trying to intimidate them with his remarks as a city official opposing the RECALL.”

This communication continues stating “I received a call about what was going on, and I went to Trader Joe’s. I video’d the man and took additional photographs as he was harassing the workers. Another activist also video’d the man, who can be heard to admit on the video that he was the same person yelling at them from his car. He’s Les Sykes. Ms Z also saw him when she was at Trader Joe’s, and she might have comments about this.
Today I spoke with a couple who said they were shopping at Trader Joe’s and they were annoyed by Les as they were exiting the store. They said he was blathering about some city program.

The woman said, “We asked him what he was doing, and he said he didn’t know anything about the program he was supposed to be touting. He had a fan with a printed announcement on it or something similar in his hand. When I asked him about the fan, he said it was just a prop that ’she’ wanted him to hold when ’she’ sent him over to Trader Joe’s.” The woman indicated that Sykes pointed at city hall when he said ’she.” The shopper said Sykes would mention the program and then mix in pro-MacLean statements.
Note: There are three names as the referenced “she” in the communication but I shall not include them in this post.  Nor will I include the last paragraph of this communication.

However, let me add some text from Les Sykes June 19, 2008 application to serve on one of our city commissions.

“I consider it to be my given duty to uphold the integrity of the city of Mission Viejo for which I have the good fortune to have been a resident for the last 20 years and also previous connections.”
Integrity? Wearing a city commissioner shirt and taking a position on a city RECALL? What instructions on “anti activism” are given to anyone in the city wearing attire adorned with the city logo and name?
I wonder what corrective action will be taken by the city council member who appointed Mr. Sykes! I might also wonder what the city manager has to say about wearing the city issued shirt as Mr. Sykes was engaging in his First Amendment Rights.

Based on activists having a “smoking gun” video, I believe Mr. Sykes crossed the line by wearing that Mission Viejo shirt which should result in his dismissal from any city commission.
If and when anything comes of this latest episode, I shall keep you posted.

Hopeless Rep Sanchez uses “Prayer Vigil Silence” to shut down reform debate

So you can’t have a moment of silence in school, but your local Demoncat Representative, Loretta “I REALLY love, and I do mean LOVE, those lobbyists” Sanchez can have a Silent Prayer Vigil on Health Care? Where does that belong in a public forum? What else are these shameless leftists and liberals going to think of?

Readers probably can’t help but wonder what effect violating the church/state separation will have on her gubernatorial aspirations!

Should we allow the Republican O.C. Fair Board members to buy the Fair?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

A year ago the Republicans on the Orange County Fair Board were busted for giving away expensive concert tickets to themselves and to their political cronies.  They also used Fair proceeds to engorge themselves with gourmet meals, again at public expense.

Now these same red-faced bastards want to buy the Orange County Fair from the State of California.  This must not be allowed to come to pass!

Of course these wealthy Republicans want to own the Fair – they will then use it as they please.  They will return to feeding themselves free dinners and giving away thousands of concert tickets to their red-faced pals.

greedy orange county fair republicans

And they will no longer have to pretend to be non-political.  Every day will be Sarah Palin day…

“Thursday, 50 fair vendors protested outside of the fairgrounds to oppose the sale,” according to the O.C. Register.

My advice to the vendors is to get together and submit their own bid!  Better yet, why don’t the surrounding cities get together and buy the fair and keep it PUBLIC?

Useless Congressman Ed Royce to hold a town hall meeting today in Placentia

Ed Royce and George W. Bush

Chicken Hawk Ed Royce was a big fan of George W. Bush

Useless Orange County CA Republican Congressman Ed Royce is hosting a Town Hall meeting today in Placentia, at the Placentia City Hall, located at 401 E. Chapman Avenue, at 1 pm.

Be sure to ask him why he voted to spend over $700 million to save illegal immigrant wild horses!  Both Royce and Campbell voted to waste this money while hundreds of thousands of Americans struggle through the Bush Depression.

Honestly, can you ever remember Royce doing ANYTHING positive?  All he does is help wastrels like Fullerton’s Dick Jones get elected.

UPDATE: Royce wrote a post over at the Red Klownty blog today advocating that we “get tough” with North Korea.  What an ass!  What do you want to do Ed, start another damn war?  How do imbeciles like this get elected to Congress?

Sacramento in turmoil as Arnold battles legislative leaders

Arnold Schwarzenegger versus Darrell Steinberg and Karen Bass

Well, we have a State budget. Or do we? With breaking news that at least one of the Legislative leaders, Senate President Pro-Tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) is going to sue the Governor to try and overturn the Governor's recent budget vetoes, Sacramento seems to be moving into yet another phase of governance chaos.

At least one news story reports that Assembly Speaker Bass (D-Los Angeles) is in jeopardy of losing her Speakership position because the budget she helped cobble together reached the Governor in a form that required he veto nearly $ 1 billion in order to come close to balancing it. Thus, the Governor was handed either a great opportunity, or a tremendous burden, depending on one's viewpoint.

The Governor used his veto pen, whacking several programs that have been important to both Speaker Bass and Senate Pro-Tem Darrel Steinberg (D- Sacramento) and many who support them politically. Those programs include child abuse and child health services. Advocates for those programs are currently seeking support from Bass and Steinberg to make a run at the Legislature to over-ride those vetoes when the Legislature re-convenes later this month. A 2/3rds vote of the Legislature would produce an over-ride. Whether such a veto over-riding proposal sees the light of day in the Legislature will depend on the will of Bass and Steinberg to take on the Governor and endure the possibility of even more distasteful gubernatorial budget cuts to offset any such restoration.

Then comes the news yesterday (Friday) that Steinberg may sue to reverse the Governor's veto. Steinberg claims the Governor exceeded his constitutional authority so a lawsuit is appropriate. The radio news reported that Bass may join Steinberg in such a suit. Is it for real, or is it a CYA by Steinberg and Bass because their leadership positions are in jeopardy because of this budget morass?

In the meantime reports are that State revenues continue to run below the level assumed in this brand new budget. This is producing more talk about another California budget crisis as 2009 draws to a close. Moody's, the investment and bond rating agency, lowered California's bond rating earlier this summer. Then it announced in mid-July that it believes California's new budget is not very solid and the future does not look good. In a July 31 San Francisco Chronicle story Emily Raines, Moody's vice president, is quoted as saying "the plan adopted this week may stop the state’s credit rating from dropping further", but added that eliminating the deficit “was achieved through a combination of cuts, raids on local funds, accounting maneuvers and one-time revenues that leave the state poorly positioned for budgetary balance in future years.”

Not to be overlooked is the fact that Moody's is being sued by the State employees retirement system known as CalPERS claiming Moody's investment rankings have been "wildly inaccurate" resulting in those who relied on them, such as CalPERS, losing a lot of money. Old timers may remember that Moody's was similarly accused when fingers were pointed in the 1994 County of Orange bankruptcy.

Also keeping the political pot boiling, there are people with plans to take out papers to seek enough voter signatures to put an initiative on the ballot to turn the full time Legislature into a part time body, such as that found in Texas and Nevada. Whether the impetus for such a movement is revenge or truly pursuit of some kind of Holy Grail of legislative efficiency, those in the Legislature are increasingly aware that the voting public is not happy with them. Thus the belief by some that the Steinberg (and possibly Bass) threatened lawsuit is as much a CYA move as anything else.

It gets worse. Some unionized State employees have voted to strike because the budget imposes furloughs and other benefit losses, and the public is beginning to see even worse than normal levels of service from its State government. And, the newspapers are reporting that a federal court has ordered California to fix its over-crowded prison system within 2 years or risk a federal takeover, leaving the State with no control but with 100% of the cost.

Has anyone noticed those ads being run on T.V by the State of Nevada seeking to lure businesses to flee California and locate to Nevada where taxes either do not exist at all (Individual and corporate income taxes) or are comparatively low? Even my Southern California high school has scheduled its next reunion out of State. Their timing couldn't be better.

Hear, hear. We oppose protectionism for the Delta “smelt” SAC Rally Aug 28th

Delta Smelt

The  following Press Release was just received at the Cutting Edge-a talk show

One if by Land, None if by Sea: Patriots Ride to Halt Eco Fish “fry” in CA
Dust Bowl

Sacramento, CA: Hundreds of California farmers, ranchers, loggers and  truckers will join an estimated 50,000 people to protest the court-ordered shutoff of water to the state’s Central Valley farmland: All to protect a minnow.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 07, 2009 – A  coalition of hispanic, conservative, taxpayer and agricultural industry organizations will march to the steps of  California’s capitol building in Sacramento on Friday, Aug. 28 to fight for the livelihoods of working families over the rights of a federally protected fish.

“The government is putting fish before families. The insanity must end,” says attorney Mark Meckler, national coordinator of the grassroots Tea Party Patriots. “It is devastating California’s economy. We are being crushed by burdensome regulations and taxes imposed by politicans who care more for causes and political gamesmanship than people.”

The rally from noon to 5 p.m. protests California’s restrictive environmental laws that often pit eco-activists against business or community interests: In this case, the state’s “bread basket” versus a bait fish.

On May 25, 2007, U. S.  District Court Judge Oliver W. Wanger issued a ruling based on federal environmental laws, to cut water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta to protect a three-inch minnow called the Delta smelt.

Since the Wanger decision, once fruitful farmland along I-5 now resembles Oklahoma’s catastrophic  “Dust Bowl.”  Signs attached to poles stuck into dry, scrub furrows along the route read, “Congress Created Dust Bowl.”

Protesters blame “Eco-Tyranny” and global warming hysteria for decisions like Wanger’s and California’s own version of Cap-and-Trade regulations for closing businesses, family farms and creating economic ghost towns in the Central Valley.

“It’s time to repeal AB 32, which is essentially California’s experiment in controlling global warming,” the Tea Party Patriot’s Meckler adds,  “It is devastating California’s economy.”

AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, also creates standards for the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to regulate refrigerant gases, the kind usually found in air-conditioning or HVAC-R systems, which are found in food processing, storage or transportation sites and manufacturing or industrial facilities.

Californians from the Central Valley to Los Angeles and San Diego are already feeling the pinch of AB 32 and environmental regulations with higher water and grocery bills.

Rep. Devin Nunes, (R-Visalia), whose district nestles in the heart of the Central Valley, cites unemployment in the San Joaquin Valley at nearly 20 percent, with some cities reporting unemployment at nearly 40 percent.

A University of California, Davis study, based on a December 2008, report by the federal Fish and Wildlife Service on water reduction in the San Joaquin Valley, estimated area job losses at 80,000 and revenue losses at $2.2 billion for 2009.

“People and communities have been replaced by a parade of extreme environmental activists and their misguided causes, ” Nunes said on July 8, after the House Appropriations Committee rejected one of his recurring attempts to block federal spending on decisions that divert precious irrigation water to protect salmon and the delta smelt among other species.

“Our politicians and their appointed cronies are strangling this great states, ” says Meckler, adding. “It’s time the politicians and bureaucrats got off the backs of California’s productive people and freed them to produce the innovation, wealth and jobs that only they can. Government is not the solution; government is the problem.”

Getting Rich by Denying Americans Care

The Health Insurance Racket: Getting Rich by Denying Americans Care

What does UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley have to lose if Congress passes real healthcare reform this year? Well, for starters, his nearly three quarters of a billion dollars in unexercised stock options might lose a few pennies on the dollar.
What does Isabella, a four year-old girl in Winsconsin who is physically incapable of eating and has had to be tube fed her entire life, have to gain from healthcare reform? The treatment she needs to live a normal life.
Watch  the above video from                http://sickforprofit.com   by Brave New Films.

I found the comments section at Youtube  to be of interest b/c there were some pretty thoughtful questions and comments about the upcoming health care bill and the health care industry in general.  Here’s a sample:
WE THE PEOPLE are subsidizing these CEOs “lifestyles” instead of OUR LIVES. Why? Why are we doing this to ourselves, our families, our children? Are we going to leave these for-profit private “wealthfare” insurance corporations to our grandchildren to deal with?
and
You knee-jerk reactionaries (misinformed by those corporations opposed to health care) should simply STOP talking about Canadian, French, “European” or British healthcare systems.

NONE of the current proposals floating around Capitol Hill would implement a “single payer” system.

Instead, some would facilitate a “government option,” which would allow those happy with their current health plans could keep them, while allowing anybody else to choose a govt. FINANCED health plan.

and
“They kept telling my local pharmacy…’Oh we’re just waiting for one more letter, or we’re just waiting for one more script, and then we’ll start paying,’” Bailey said. “This went on for six months, and December 4th both the pharmacy and I received a letter from United Health Care saying they deemed it medically unnecessary and that they were not going to pay any of it.

“I tried to explain to them that if I do not have this, I will die. And the only response she gave me was, ‘OK.’”

and

I’m wide awake and single payer is the worst idea ever, it will bankrupt this country and it will provide horrible service. Don’t listen to me or to “patginsd” do your own homework. It is failing in Canada. It will fail here.

And there were LOTS more that add a LOT to the conversation that needs to take place when deciding health care reform.   Check out this   LINK
