The Democrats Pogrom

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

An important factor to keep in mind when reading is this publication, “Your Life, Your Choices” which has been available through the Veterans Administration since July 2, 2009, existed under the Clinton and Bush administrations until the Bush White House read it. Bush Administration officials saw how this publication was dealing with complex moral and health issues and suspended it. But bureaucrats in the Obama administration saw fit to bring it back. Why?

Well, the first thing to look at is the author of “Your Life, Your Choices.” He is Robert A Pearlman, MD. Dr. Pearlman's areas of expertise cover end-of-life care. But what is fascinating is that his areas of study are: euthanasia, validity of life sustaining treatment preferences, medical futility and physician assisted suicide. He has argued for physician assisted suicide before the US Supreme Court. I could search all day and not find a smatter of broad-based, middle ground appeal in what this man believes and fights for. How did this man become the voice for Veterans in the twilight of their years?

Secondly, read the pamphlet

“Your Life, Your Choices” presents end-of-life choices like an MSNBC poll, pushing you toward an inevitable conclusion without rationale. The worksheet on page 21 asks you to decide if your life “is worth living”. Can you shake the blues? Do you live in a nursing home? Are you in a wheelchair? are just some of the questions leading to that conclusion. When the government can steer vulnerable individuals to conclude for themselves that life is not worth living, who needs a death panel?

Take the case of Barbara Wagner in Oregon, one of this country’s leaders in physician assisted suicide. Barbara, 64, was diagnosed with lung cancer. Her doctors warned her she had less than six months left. She requested a new life-prolonging treatment from Oregon's state-run health plan. The drug was refused. Instead, she was offered lethal medication to end her life.

‘It was horrible,’ Barbara told reporters. ‘I got a letter in the mail that basically said if you want to take the pills we will help you get them from a doctor and we will stand there and watch you die – but we won’t give you the medicine to live.

‘I told them: “Who do you think you are to say that you will pay for my dying, but you won’t pay for me to possibly live longer?”

Some of my more jaded readers will be shocked, “shocked I say!”, to discover that my attack here is not with Obama, per se. In fact, the government itself is to blame. This is what I, and many conservatives have been talking about since this whole silly socialized medicine debate began.

And don’t tell me it’s not about socialized medicine. If you are for the public option, you see nothing wrong with socialized medicine. That’s what the rest of us have a problem with. You are so myopic about solving problems with government that you honestly don’t see or comprehend the inherent dangers.

Well, here it is, laid bare. Your government bureaucrat, not your politician, and not your appointed czar, is the one you have to worry about. The individual given the authority and the power to guide and influence the kinds of decisions you make at the end of your life is the one to fear, because if you get your way, all roads will lead through one of them.

For a moment, paint the picture by partisans of the right-to-die movement, who will surely come to this pogroms defense with a terminally-ill patient with nothing but intense suffering betwixt him and death. Now picture this. You are in a wheelchair, or you had a stroke. Your doctor recommends end-of-life measures. Your life is not worth living. This escape from the burden of autonomous choice is attractive, as every liberal knows. Why make a decision someone else can make for you? Validated by a doctor no less. Once a trusted physician recommends suicide or euthanasia, many patients will feel they have no alternative but to accept.

We are crossing lines, at first slowly and now with rapidity: killing unborn children for convenience; removing tissue from live fetuses; creating embryos for destruction in research; experimenting with assisted suicide and contemplating euthanasia. Humans, it seems, become inconvenient to liberals and government at both ends of their lives.

Irvine Dems fight police union while Costa Mesa Reeps fold like chairs

Larry Agran fights the police union

Would you believe it?  Steven Greenhut praised Larry Agran and his fellow Irvine City Council Democrats over at the O.C. Register in an op-ed today.  Apparently Agran and company have been fighting the Irvine Police Association, which is up in arms over cutbacks.

Meawhile, over in Costa Mesa, two Republicans joined Katrina Foley in giving firefighters an even earlier retirement, under the guise of saving money.

Here is an excerpt from Greehut’s op-ed:

A month ago, if you asked me which council – Costa Mesa’s, which has a 4-1 GOP majority, or Irvine’s, with its 3-2 Democratic majority (both are officially nonpartisan) – would stand up for fiscal responsibility, I would not have flinched in selecting the former. Call me pleasantly surprised, not just at the vote, but at the way the Agran-led Irvine majority is shrugging off the sort of police-union theatrics that have become commonplace as police associations have mastered the art of hardball politics to a degree that would make the Teamsters blush.

The Costa Mesa Council Members who voted for the pension spike were Wendy Leece and Gary Monahan.

Incidentally, the Irvine Council Republicans, Christina Shea and Steven Choi, voted with the police union.

Is there anything worse than Republican politicians who shill for unions?

Scumbag Santa Ana Mayor Pulido used Agranista tactics to give rail contract to a backer

santa-ana-light-rail

Pulido used strong-arm Agranista tactics to hand a big rail contract to his supporter, George Pla

Now we know why Santa Ana Public Works director Jim Ross suddenly retired.  According to a new article over at the O.C. Register, Ross was opposed to handing over close to $5 million to George Pla’s Cordoba Corp., so they could begin to work on Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido’s light rail to nowhere project.

After Ross’s team found that Cordoba was the lowest rated bidder, Pulido and Councilmember David Benavides forced the city to allow the Council Members to assess the bidders.  They did so via the Council’s Transportation Committee.

Pulido, Benavides and Councilman Carlos Bustamante have all received campaign contributions from Pla.

Pulido and Bustamante abstained when the rest of the Council gave Cordoba the contract.

One of the other Council Members told me last week that Santa Ana is finished if the rail project and the Station District development does not go through.  I would submit that we are finished because of the tactics of Pulido and company.

It would appear that Pulido has learned from his equally scumbag friend in Irvine, Councilman Larry Agran.

Lieberman: Let’s worry about the uninsured until after the recession is over

No limits for the cost of Bush’s wars, but NO financial support for Americans’  health from Ol’ Joe.    This guy is a serial bad joke.

Another All-Inclusive Church is Born: ELCA votes to allow gay pastors

elca

Gay ministers will be allowed to lead parishes, representatives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) voted today in Minneapolis.  The 559-451 vote marks a historic change for the 4.8 million ELCA members, including 830,000 in Minnesota.  The vote repeals the ELCA’s ban on gay clergy unless they agreed to remain celibate. The new position allows the installation of gay pastors but leaves the decision to call a gay pastor up to individual congregations and synods.

Delegates heeded warnings not to react as the outcome was read, but onlookers in the gallery hugged one another in celebration.    LINK
The proposal would not go into effect until November, allowing three months for emotions to cool.    Will God have second thoughts by then?

Happy Sunday to ALL.      ;-)

The Liberal OC blog lost readers after their acquisition of Sunny D

Claudio Gallegos

On August 14, the Liberal OC Blog announced to much hullabaloo that they had “acquired” the defunct blog “Sunny D.”  What that meant essentially was that Sunny D’s Claudio Gallegos was now a Liberal OC blogger.

So it has been a week now – and we asked the question, did the acquisition work?

I checked out the Liberal OC’s Sitemeter data from August 7 to 13 and compared it to their readership data from August 14 to August 20.

Their total visits from Aug. 7 – 13 came to 5,325.  After the acquisition of Claudio their total visits from Aug. 14 to 20, came to 5,208.  They actually had 117 LESS visits after they acquired Sunny D.

So you see, the Sunny D acquisition was much ado about nothing, as the Bard said.  The Jannies came together and nobody cared…

CRP Vice Chairman Jon Fleischman is an idiot

Jon Fleischman

Why does anyone care what Jon Fleischman has to say?

“California Republican Party leaders, in a move that could reshape state primary-election politics, are preparing a move to bar decline-to-state voters – now 20 percent of the electorate – from casting a GOP ballot in statewide and legislative primaries,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

And who is leading the charge of the stupid brigade?  None other than California Republican Party Vice Chairman Jon Fleischman, the former public relations hack for disgraced criminal Mike Carona, who used to be Sheriff of Orange County.  Fleischman also owns the “Flash Report,” a GOP blog that has very few readers.

Fleischman says his proposal will strengthen the party – how will that happen when it will push independents out of the primary – and right into the Democratic Party’s arms?  Studies show that these voters tend to vote blue again in the general elections.

I guess Fleischman wants his party to go extinct.  His strategy is to hate independents, Mexicans, gays and moderates.  What kind of political strategy is that?  What a complete pendejo!

It’s a Usual Suspects birthday party!

julie-stroud1

Guess who is having a birthday tomorrow?  That’s right – the Queen of the Santa Ana Usual Suspects, Julie Stroud!  I don’t know if she will be having a birthday party, but if she is I imagine a plethora of Usual Suspects will be there.

By popular demand, we are re-printing our Usual Suspects trading cards below.  We still have not received new cards for the rest of the Usual Suspects.  So who are they?  Well, for starts, just about anyone involved in Comm Link, which is a group of Santa Ana neighborhood association metiches.

Who else? How about Claudio Gallegos, the former Sunny D blogger who now blogs with his fellow Jannies over at the Liberal OC?  Gallegos once told me that he worked on the Nativo Lopez recall, and then showed up at Mark McLoughlin’s house for the election night party.  But guess what?  They would not let him in!  And yet he still pals around with these people…

In fact Gallegos  also told me that Stroud herself once commented to Phil Bacerra that she liked his Latina girlfriend, because she is “not like the other Mexicans.”  And Gallegos and Bacerra are still chummy with Stroud and company…despite that obviously racist comment.

There was a time when Gallegos was opposed to the Usual Suspects, but they have a habit of infecting folks and increasing their ranks.  It’s like the movie “Body Snatchers.”

Here’s another Stroud tale.  According to Thomas Gordon, Julie and her husband, Glen “Barney Rubble,” like to go to Mexico to rescue greyhound dogs.  LOL!  They love Mexican dogs but apparently dislike actual Mexicans!

Stroud also told me, and several others, that she could not understand why the empty Ralphs over on 17th would be taken over by a Mexican supermarket – why, she asked, did they need to make the store Mexican?  Why not make it a “regular” store?

Other Usual Suspects include Oscar Garza, Kim Sinclair, Tim Rush, Debbie McEwen, Chris Prevatt, developer Mike Harrah, all of the biddies in the Wilshire Square neighborhood association who asked for Bear Locks on their trash cans, Tom and Nancy Lutz, and just about everyone in the Floral Park neighborhood – particularly those who hold Halloween parties on a night other than Halloween, and then turn off the lights on Halloween. And whoever it was in Heninger Park that pushed to make that neighborhood a historic district.

So what is up with these people?  For the most part they hate the poor and they are very much against Mexican and Central American immigrants.  You will note that there are now Latinos in the Usual Suspects.  Stroud has been very busy collecting her “brown brigade,” along with Thomas Gordon.  They used these second-tier members of the Usual Suspects to advocate for the Bacerra Bicycle Rack Act and the Gordon Graffiti ordinance.

You will see many of the Usual Suspects at Santa Ana City Council meetings. They used to sit in the back row and snicker.  Now you find them in the front row, empowered by a City Council that regularly does their bidding.

Feliz Cumpleanos Julie.  Don’t let the pinata hit you on your head!

GOP mi-NO-rity party does not want health insurance reform for YOU.

You want information?  This video clip is PACKED FULL  of the current health insurance reform issues.  Here’s some of  what’s in store:

Who are the gang of Six?  Does David  Vitter really want to crash the health care system of CANADA to address the issue of health insurance reform in the United States? (Sneak answer: Yes, he does!  View the video and hear his plans during a town hall meeting).   The Party of NO has become the MiNOrity party.

GOP Olympia Snowe gives her progress report on health care reform.   Anthony Weiner outlines what works as a single payer option.  Just how many Republicans are ready to vote for either of the current bills being discussed?  Bachmann, Perry and Demint are showcased.  Is the US becoming “just like Iran” where people will need to flee the country if health care reform takes place?  Will the loser Democrats ever grow a set?  Will our nation get something worthwhile or will we get shortchanged by lawmakers AGAIN?

For anyone who is trying to make sense of what all is going on, this is a “Must See”.  The foremat is fast moving, easy to follow and showcases all of the major players who are trying to help/not help shape the impending health reforms.           Please leave comments below.

“Why are we walking away from our base principles?”    Great question!

NEA Attacks Obama’s Education Reform Plan

NEA-logo-horiz-RGB-1

The nation’s largest teachers union sharply attacked President Obama’s most significant school improvement initiative on Friday evening, saying that it puts too much emphasis on a “narrow agenda” centered on charter schools and echoes the Bush administration’s “top-down approach” to reform.

The National Education Association’s criticism of Obama’s $4.35 billion “Race to the Top” initiative came nearly a month after the president unveiled the competitive grant program, meant to spur states to move toward teacher performance pay; lift caps on independently operated, publicly funded charter schools; and take other steps to shake up school systems.  The NEA’s statement to the Department of Education came a week before the end of the public-comment period on the administration’s proposal, and it reflected deep divisions over the White House’s education agenda within a constituency largely loyal to the Democratic Party.

The union, which boasts 3.2 million members, charged that Race to the Top contradicted administration pledges to give states more flexibility in how they improve schools. “We find this top-down approach disturbing; we have been down that road before with the failures of No Child Left Behind,” the union wrote in its comments, “and we cannot support yet another layer of federal mandates that have little or no research base of success and that usurp state and local government’s responsibilities for public education.”           Source: Washington Post        More at this      LINK

We have a whole lot of teachers who stop by OJ regularly.  It would be nice to get your input.  I believe CTA is a part of NEA.  Do you agree with your union umbrella on this issue? *

* You WILL be graded and your pay scale will be impacted, depending upon your answers.  Proceed with caution!

Just How Bad Was the Norby E-mail? You Be The Judge

Norbysleeve1-500x333

A few days ago County Supervisor Chris Norby sent out a solicitation for contributions to his County Clerk campaign. Nothing unusual there. But apparently some of them were sent to County employees at their work e-mail addresses. County employees are forbidden to use their computers for this type of activity so even if the e-mails were sent from a private computer (they were) it raises problems for the recipients thereof.

Others have raised the seemliness and propriety of a supervisor asking for money of employees during a time of layoffs. The issue of coercion seems to be the focus.

Chris is getting roasted alive by just about everyone under the sun for this transgression, including apparently the good folks at KFI. The upshot of all of this remains to be seen, but so far the fallout hasn't been too good for Norby.

Anyhoo, we got a hold of a copy of the offending e-mail. Here it is: Read more.
