Obama Giving 1 Billion to Hamas

Obama is giving $900 million to Gaza reconstruction. Who doesn’t understand NO ONE will be in line for that money that Hamas doesnt want there. No construction work will be done without Hamas people being paid. Oh, wait, the UN will be the go-to.

Are you still in your chair?

1. Guantanamo Abuse has increased under Obama

2. The tax cut? Check with your CPA. The tax tables are not changing for 2010. THAT MEANS, the money you receive will be recorded as INCOME. Its NOT A TAX CUT. You will be taxed on that money.

3. Obama Administration Keeps Bush view on Detainees

This is going to be fun…

Where is Cain…we already have an Abel!

Abel Maldonado was on NBC News Conference today!  This guy is from the other side of the moon.  His demand for an “Open Primary”….is sicko stuff.  Didn’t we already vote that idiocy down once or twice?  What happens to the California Republican party?  Didn’t we already have another turncoat that went along with Willie Brown…maybe two as we recall.  One woman and one guy.

Now, there is little doubt that the CRP is very, very dubious when it comes to open anything - we can agree.  They do have a closed corporation and you either play or stray!  If you stray….you will be punished - little or no doubt!  Maldonado, kept trying to sell his dedication to the citizens of California, mainly because he wants to run for statewide office, which could only happen if California has an “Open Primary”.  He repetitive redundancy on that line followed the axiom: “He dost protest too much!”  Pure baloney!

Maldonado, then had the temerity to say: “The California Republican Party has to change!”  We agree, and the first thing we need to do is get rid of self serving  Maldonado!  Let us share with dear Abel what we call “a partisan propriety”:  If you are in the minority….you are NOT allowed to cross over and vote on the other side of the aisle without approval by your leadership!  If you do, you have just become part of the other side!  Secondly, if you make side deals…they should never directly benefit the deal maker…only members of their party or members of the “side shifting opposition”….to “the correct side” of course!  Third, when you are in the minority….you need to pay attention to the elected or selected leaders of your party.  If you want to be an Independent - that is when you decide to run an an Independent, not as a Republican or Democrat.  Finally, there are consequences to all known stupidty - Abel!

Good grief, where do we get such numbskulls?  Oh, Santa Maria……well, voters in Santa Maria……do your duty and dump Maldonado, through that Recall or through demanding that he be “Censured” by the California Republican Party!

No, we don’t want the Double Car Tax, doubling tax rates or anything else that a “turncoat” might endorse!  Hasn’t Able heard..you don’t raise taxes during a “depression”?

Tax Revolt coming to Fullerton on March 7

Is Fullerton ready for a John and Ken invasion?  The Tax Revolt 2009 Facebook page has announced a huge protest to be held in Fullerton, as follows:

On Saturday, March 7th, there will be a massive anti-tax rally at the Slide Bar Cafe in Fullerton held by KFI AM 640’s “shock jock jihadists” John and Ken. We are protesting the recent passage of the largest single tax increase in any state in the 232 1/2 year saga of these fruited plains by the Effeminator formerly known as the Governator formerly known as the Terminator formerly known as a steroid-injecting, pot-smoking, tittie-groping, knuckle-dragging “forehead”. Are you going to let this thick-skulled Austrialopithecus run you and your loved ones out of the greatest state in the greatest nation in the history of mankind? HELL NO! Neither will we suffer the continued tyranny of his cronies - especially those in the Republican Party - who either voted for or were complicit in this steaming horse turd of a budget.

Here are the event details:

Date: Saturday, March 7, 2009
Time: 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Location: Slidebar Cafe
Street: 122 E. Commonwealth Ave.
City/Town: Fullerton, CA

I bet that our blogger Tony Bushala will be there!  I encourage all our readers to head to Fullerton on March 7!

The name “Chris Cox” will be forever cursed

As if the OC GOP didn’t have enough problems - it now appears that former Orange County Congressman Chris Cox played a huge role in the meltdown of our nation’s financial sector, while he was perhaps the lamest Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, as revealed in a new Time Magazine investigation.

Historians looking for an early sign that the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression might be deeper than expected could do worse than listen in on a predawn teleconference one Friday last spring. Top Treasury and Federal Reserve Bank officials hunched over their phones in a last-ditch bid to bail out the giant investment bank Bear Stearns Cos. But a crucial voice was missing from the emergency conference call: Christopher Cox, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

And it was not the only time the nation’s chief securities regulator was absent during that critical weekend. On Saturday, as bailout talks continued, Cox dropped out to give a speech at the birthday party of a securities-industry overseer. On Sunday, Cox was a no-show once again, this time for a key conference call dealing with the multibillion-dollar sale of Bear Stearns’ remaining assets to JPMorgan Chase. Less than a week later, the SEC chairman slipped away for a long-planned Caribbean holiday.

The man who should have played a major role in sounding the alarm about–and perhaps preventing–America’s financial meltdown now stands accused by critics of being asleep on the job. While Cox did participate in some of that weekend’s deliberations, federal officials involved in the process say he was a bit player, and Cox himself notes that he was skeptical about the bailout. Though he left the SEC on Jan. 20, he has emerged as a symbol of much of what went wrong at the small but crucial federal agency, from ignoring evidence of a massive Ponzi scheme set up by investment guru Bernard Madoff to the passive supervision of giant investment banks that went under on his watch. Partly as a result of this lax supervision, the future of the 75-year-old agency is in jeopardy.

Santa Ana carjacking turns into a home invasion!

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

What has happened to Santa Ana?  We have had plenty of carjackings over the last year - but the latest one turned into a home invasion robbery!

“A resident reported that he was driving in his car on Sheffield Street at about 9:30 a.m. when three men in a small SUV forced him to pull over, according to Commander Steve Colon. The three men then ordered the victim at gunpoint to take them to his home in the 2900 block of South Baker Street,” according to the O.C. Register.

This crime started in the Riverview West Neighborhood.  It ended in the Sunwood Central neighborhood.  The poor family that was robbed had to endure an almost seven mile drive, with the robbers in their car, while they headed for their home, where their belongings were ransacked and robbed.

This is ridiculous!  Doesn’t this sound like something that would happen in Ciudad Juarez?  That this sort of thing is happening here, in “Orange County’s Downtown” is awful.  Is Mayor Miguel Pulido ever going to hold a press conference to explain his plan to save our city?  Does he even have a plan?  Will he ever apologize for telling voters last year that Santa Ana is one of the “safest cities in Orange County?”  That turned out to be quite a whopper!

Maybe we all need CCW permits in this town?

UPDATE:

One of the bad guys has been caught, according to the O.C. Register.  Here is an excerpt from their newest article:

Garden Grove police assisted Santa Ana police in locating a suspect, Humberto Alatorre. Alatorre, 34, is being held at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery, carjacking, burglary and committing a felony while in possession of a firearm, police said. Bail has been set at $1 million. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are trying to locate the resident’s car, a white 1998 Ford Escort with license plate 3XRA546.

Bogus conservative Republican ex-legislator appointed to Agro Labor Relations Board

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed former GOP Assemblywoman Sharon Runner of Lancaster to the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, which meets publicly twice a month, and pays $128,109 a year,” according to the Sacramento Bee.

I thought that Sharon, and her husband George, were supposed to be conservatives?  This looks like personal pork!

And consider this - Sharon generally voted against the interest of farm workers when she was a legislator! She actually voted “against heat illness prevention regulations for farm workers.”

Moreover, she has “a rare lung disease, limited scleroderma, with no known cure. She is on a transplant list waiting for two new lungs. The condition caused her to miss many of the final weeks of the end of last year’s legislative session.”

And Runner has zero experience in this area. She “never served on either the labor or agriculture committees, according to those panels.”

What does Sharon’s husband George, who is a tough talking conservative state legislator, think about all this?

“Now is the time to live within ours means,” George Runner had said after Schwarzenegger’s State of the State speech last month. “We must adopt a spending limit, hold the taxations of our citizens to a minimum and allow government to provide only the most basic needs.”

Hypocrites!

UPDATE:

CA GOP Chairman Ron Nehring has weighed in on this matter, on Facebook.  His message appears to be that waste is OK if you are wasting money on Republicans and not Democrats:

Governor Schwarzenegger deserves enormous credit for his wisdom in appointing former Assemblymember Sharon Runner to the Agricultural Labor Relations Board. Complaints from the far left are unwarranted and reflect a kneejerk mentality by some union officials.

I’ve known Sharon Runner for years. She is incredibly bright, compassionate and brimming with common sense. She has a way of cutting through the clutter of complex issues and getting to the heart of the matter, and doing so in a way that often disarms her opponents. This probably explains why those who seek to use boards like the ALRB to drive an ideological agenda won’t find much comfort in Sharon Runner’s appointment.

We’re pleased the Governor appointed her, and look forward to her confirmation. Hopefully, the Senate will put partisan and ideological concerns aside in confirming this first class leader to this important post.

Governor Schwarzenegger. We know where you can find billions of tax dollars

It seems like yesterday when Governor Schwarzenegger was looking to find money to balance the state budget. At that time, Feb 2004, Chris Norby, Orange County Fourth District Supervisor, penned an Orange Grove in the OC Register in which he suggests an alternative to ERAF shifts. He writes “Instead of complaining, however, county and city leaders should find the governor the money he needs without cutting vital local services. And the money is there, right in front of us: It’s in the $2.5 billion in annual property tax revenue given to California’s redevelopment agencies. This huge outlay is not funding any vital public services.” He goes on to report that “Redevelopment agencies were originally created to alleviate “blight” but have become cash cows subsidizing private development.”
Folks. Drive through my city of Mission Viejo and tell me have “blight.” Although I once wrote a letter published in the Register on shutting down our redevelopment agency we continue in operation as we too have “bonded indebtedness” to pay off.

A few years a go I testified before SD Senator Christine Kehoe’s Redevelopment and Blight Joint Hearing with representatives of the Assembly and Senate discussing redevelopment.  Following that hearing I worked with her staff on SB 1206 which eventually was signed into law by governor Schwarzenegger.

On May 9th she wrote a story for Voice of San Diego in which she included the following whose title reads: The problem with redevelopment.

“Unfortunately, redevelopment is not cheap. Just providing the state’s share of redevelopment costs state taxpayers $1.7 billion a year. The 760 redevelopment project areas in California take over $3.4 billion in property tax revenues away from our schools, counties, cities and special districts. Because the state Constitution requires us to provide equal funding for schools, the state must replace every dollar that schools lose to redevelopment projects.”

So while she did point out some examples of redevelopment projects she was very candid about the true impact of our providing huge sums of “corporate welfare” to big box stores, malls, auto dealers and professional stadium moguls on the backs of the taxpayers.
So. If I have to choose between giving corporate welfare to firms whose pockets are much wider and deeper than my own I would vote to take these buckets of unused cash to offset some of the current shortfall.

Check it out. Ten years ago we created $35 million of debt relating to two parking structures for Simon Properties.  Their bank book was much larger than the city of Mission Viejo to renovate their neglected mall. As such they had the wherewithal to move ahead without our taxpayer funds but found a city council that lacked fiscal restraint. Forget my photos showing that work on the project commenced 7-8 months BEFORE the CIP was approved in Open Session by that city council.

Juice readers. Would you prefer paying higher taxes or having Arnold take the accumulated redevelopment funds as suggested by Supervisor Norby?

CPAC Straw Poll Results are in: Romney, Jindal; Palin & Paul tie!

At his closing speech at the CPAC conference, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh doubled down on his widely-controversial claim that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail. Limbaugh’s speech went on more than an hour than what was planned.

The results of the conference straw poll were: Romney 20%, Jindal 14%, Paul 13%, Palin 13%, Gingrich 10%

Conservatives Seek Next Ronald Reagan

The future of the conservative movement presented himself on Friday, and he was 13. Jonathan Krohn, the author of “Define Conservatism” and political prodigy voted “Atlanta’s Most Talented Child” in 2006, was the talk of the Conservative Political Action Conference for a brief portion of the afternoon session. His two-minute address on “Conservative Victories Across the Nation” covered the lost principles of the Republican Party, which he called the “shell” to conservatism’s “filling.” Joe the Plumber was quite impressed with Mr. Krohn. JTP sold 5 copies of his book at CPAC, too.

Should GOP toady Assemblyman Jeff Miller be recalled?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Republican Assemblyman Jeff Miller’s campaign website features the headline “Conservative Republican for Assembly.”  However, Miller is not much of refused to vote to remove RINO GOP Assembly Leader Mike Villines, even though Villines supported our recent new state budget and tax increase.  Miller is a Whip for the GOP Assembly members.  But it sounds like Villines has him whipped.

And so now John and Ken, of KFI, have announced an effort to recall Miller, in effect they are making him their political human sacrifice of 2009.

Our former blogger, Chris Emami, wrote that “According to campaign finance reports, Miller has $975 cash on hand in his 2008 account and is in debt $101,878 from his 2008 race, as of December 31, 2008.  His 2010 account is in debt by $2,027 with no cash on hand, again as of December 31, 2008.”

It certainly sounds like Miller can be taken out.

You might recall that Miller had to beat Neil Blais in the primary before he got to the Assembly.  Blais hails from Rancho Santa Margarita.  Miller is from Corona.  Most of the voters in his district are in Orange County, but they got stuck with a legislator from the Inland Empire - and now it has turned out that he is nothing more than a toady for Villines, who voted to raise our taxes.

So who endorsed Miller when he ran against Blais?  Click here to read that sorry list of hack Republicans.  The list includes Assemblyman Anthony Adams, who voted for the tax increase; disgraced former San Bernardino County Assessor Bill Postmus, whose career ended amidst allegations of homosexuality and meth use; lame Mission Viejo Council Members Frank Ury and John Paul Ledesma; and Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle.

But to be fair, Blais had some awful endorsements too, including Assemblyman Jim Silva; Mike Schroeder; and Assemblyman Van Tran.

The Recall Jeff Miller campaign has its own blog, and a Facebook page.

Should Miller be recalled?  I am not sure he ever should have been elected in the first place!

Barack Obama to powerful lobbies: Bring It On

President Barack Obama challenged the nation’s vested interests to a legislative duel Saturday, saying he will fight to change health care, energy and education in dramatic ways that will upset the status quo.  “The system we have now might work for the powerful and well-connected interests that have run Washington for far too long,” Obama said in his weekly radio and video address. “But I don’t. I work for the American people.”
He said his ambitious budget plan, unveiled Thursday, will help millions of Americans, but only if Congress overcomes resistance from deep-pocket lobbies.  “I know these steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they’re gearing up for a fight,” Obama said, using tough-guy language reminiscent of his predecessor, George W. Bush. “My message to them is this: So am I.”    Link.

Here is the full transcript of his Keeping Promises.

Woo Hoo!  Nice to have a President FOR the PEOPLE instead of  for the corporations .  Every single week he has delivered something new and promising.
